@johnyma22 said: The good news is that our forum is open source so if you are really motivated to do it you are very welcome to hack on it yourself :) Ha! If it was C# and Silverlight I'd take you up on that, but chances are it is javascript which ranks right up there on my 'languages I hate' list :)

After some investigation and try, I have figured out what's wrong for my pn532 breakout from elechouse, here's the lib fixed: https://github.com/picospuch/PN532 In my case, there're no additional lines other than the vcc, gnd, sdl, scl used.

@Frederic that's expected behaviour pretty much. Your Mileage May Vary with a case. It basically depends on how well the manufacturer has implemented NFC in your device. If they do it poorly then you get a poor result with the ring.

I'm cross-posting with https://forum.nfcring.com/topic/683/nfc-reader-writer-for-windows/20 as this thread is about the same topic. I'm Maxime from ISLOG and we just put John's advices in practice (he tried our RFID Logon solution months ago and wasn't completely pleased with it previous state). ISLOG Logon is now available freely for personal use under ISLOG Logon NFC Community package. You can download it here : 64-bit: http://download.islog.com/islog/4.0/NG/ISLOG Logon NFC Community-4.7.0708-x64.exe 32-bit: http://download.islog.com/islog/4.0/NG/ISLOG Logon NFC Community-4.7.0708-x86.exe This is a first version for feedback, please be gentle :). No data encryption for now but it will come. It unfortunately cannot be open-sourced because we have to re-architecture a lot the current codebase to do so (some modules are shared with our commercial product) which is too much investment for our small team right now. So except there is something like thousands of requests we will not do it, sorry. Small comfort, part of it is already open source like the RFID / NFC middleware https://github.com/islog/liblogicalaccess EDIT: see https://forum.nfcring.com/topic/782/islog-logon-windows-nfc-login

@johnyma22 Just had this tweet from @John-McLear. Thought I'd post it here for the community to see, although I suspect it will disappoint rather than placate. It was an odd thing to say. Here it is verbatim. "It's available to some folks, not sure what the situation is tbh. Development was completed years ago from our perspective!" Share & Enjoy.

The PM function is still available, you click the little chat bubble in the top right if you're on the desktop site. If you're on the mobile site there should be a menu feature that allows you to access it. I can understand your disappointment at not receiving exactly what you ordered. My entire order was also changed, but the rings still perform and I still use them to unlock my android device, start my car and will be hacking on a door unlocking device soon (and modifying my electronically locking gun safe when I get a chance). The changes and the reasons behind them were well documented here, on kickstarter, on the blog, and @johnyma22 has spoken at length about them on #nfcring freenode, and the frustrations involved. So if you want to react this way and walk away from a functional device that performs well because your own particular order wasn't perfect that's fine - I can completely understand why you would turn other 'hackers' away due to aesthetic irritation.

Heh, I guess that'd do it too! I just got my microview units so I'm going to be altering the car starter to incorporate one of those instead of the microduino, the microview has an inbuilt oled display, so I'll be able to do something nifty with that instead of the big string of LEDs across the dash to show mode.

@Maxime-C. Which ID length are you using? 4, 7 etc? There is also little and big endian? @jasok2 I am looking at Rohos and hope to get a test result soon. The payments ring (Java Card based?) I suspect will not be simply written to.

Carrunstate is just an arbitrary counter for which mode the arduino should be in. Handbrake state is the only input that's of any importance in that sketch - but wasn't working properly. Possibly my code is crap.

hi group, i would use it to store game data combined with the nfc game kids like my free system: NFC Playing Figures / Lego´ where you can make interactive playing systems. or even with the new lego dimension system: Lego Dimensions RFID/NFCSystem so it is possible to meet together and come to you playingstate with one short handmovement. sunny wishes, Alex
