Carbon Fiber vouchers Kickstarter update

Then why aren't you honouring the promises that were made to us during the original campaign?
I am going beyond honouring the promises, I made a better ring -
Why are the vouchers now worth half a ring, not a full ring and
They will be the vast majority of a full ring when we list the new rings on the site early for voucher use. -
why aren't all affected rings receiving vouchers?
Because not all rings are created equal and we shipped very few carbon fibre rings, we shipped the majority of the black PVD rings.
RE my reputation:.. People who manage communities on the Internet know from time to time you have to call people out for being toxic... It's part of community management...

I don't need to think carefully about anything, thank you very much.
That would be your choice then, mate.

What about the minority of folks who ordered a black PVD rings and didn't receive one? I was very excited by the PVD rings and that is what got me behind the kickstarter to begin with.

If you ordered a black pvd stealth bomber and then customised it and then didn't receive a black customised stealth bomber... consider that a little more carefully than the last guy and just make a claim.

@johnyma22 Thankyou for the reply, and yes i understand.
the only annoyance i have at the moment is out of your control, the garbage Australian Exchange rate.If i assume 22 pound for a new ring, that's only $50AUD. (plus postage costs)
I understand you wish to make an awesome product, and only ship an awesome one, as a gamer and buggy games, i appreciate your mentality and direction. :)
I was not aware I could swap it out for another one!!
when i emailed you guys on May 26th/2014 I mentioned the ring was useless, and the response (from Tom on your team) was "you'll be getting a voucher in the near future, If I wanted he could send out a 50% code voucher to me to get another ring.)I'll chock it upto just left hand not talking to the right hand.. Yes, i see your side better now it's messy, and customers were left messy.
so;
Gimmie a code, I'll reluctantly get a new ring (and please don't set a time limit on my voucher, it's painful to use at low exchange rates)
and then sort my matters out that way, I plan to get the iphone 6s which "Won't" have nfc, and I'll accept that, the ring will be handy for business card info publishing.I apologise i didn't word my post there greatly.
if i can get something better in the end, well.. wait was worth it i guess.
thankyou for your reply. -

I hear that. Exercise your voting power and don't vote conservative unless you're a squillionaire and want the tax breaks.
I'm sending you a pm, so make sure you check that, also contact support@nfcring.com regarding the faulty ring. -
When I press the link to the Fiber Voucher form, this is what I get :
'This form is currently private and cannot be viewed by the public.' And today is the last day I can file my claim :-( -
Ugh the deadline has passed Annita, that's why it's private.. I can't open the form again now as all data has been passed on for processing :|
Very little I can do I'm afraid, ugh! :( Sorry... You could email support but they have been told to not allow any changes after the deadline, they might make an exception for you because of your contributions to the project..
-
But I was trying to access it ON the 13th. Anyway, I'll try to explain to them the situation
Thank you for replying. -

What will the voucher consist of?
We will issue you a voucher to the original order value of the ring from your pledge. So if you pledged £15 for a stealth bomber ring and we provided you an alternative ring, you will get a £15 voucher. Pretty cool huh? Collection folks will get the value of that ring from the collection, we value each ring from the collection at £15 so you will get a voucher of £15 per substitution.Got my voucher today, thanks for doubling it...I'm sure this will make a lot of the NFC Ring 1 users happy.
-
Got my voucher - cheers.
Some links send me to the store -- but the store doesn't have the new rings, and no mention of voucher, and doesn't recognise my login (which works fine here... I thought we moved to single sign on a while back?).
Some links send me to kickstarter - especially the http://nfcring.com/2016/ link that redirects to www.kickstarter.com , but none of the wording there implies anything about the voucher. It seems like rather mixed messages. If the (second) kickstarter fails to reach it's target are the vouchers still valid?
(PS: I still find this forum's visual style to be horribly unreadable & unintuitive)

From the email:
The 2016 Rings wont be available until they go live on the store, but you will get an email before anyone else when this happens.

Hoping to get the vouchers active in about 9 days, just crazy rammed w/ the KS right now!
-
I know it's last minute, I had to double check with several places at different times to get an accurate ring measurement. But I didn't see a spot to put the voucher code in at checkout. Did I miss something?
-
I'm guessing the expiry was based on your time zone and I went by mine. Money is tight these days so I really had to wait until last minutes to be sure I would still have cash left for shipping. Crap, my bad on the time zone thing.
Another note, did you make any that were carbon fibre and transparent? That was the one design I was hoping for. But the antennas on the new inlays look really cool
-
@LoganFive Nah we didn't make any Black fiber / Transparent rings this time around! Might do in the future though, nothing to stop us other than volume :)
-
That's good to hear. It was smart to only offer a certain number of static designs this time around. Must have saved you a heap of trouble and time. About missing the expiry date on the voucher, I saw a similar post on another thread. I believe I should email support about that?
-
@LoganFive yeah we're learning what does and doesn't work and we're also learning the importance of saying "no" to backers/customers. In fact sometimes I think it's the times you say no that defines you as a company instead of the times you say "yes".

Hi, Just a quick FYI that I (as a backer of the 2013 campaign and chooser of a carbon fibre ring) haven't heard anything about how fulfilment of the replacement rings is going. I applied for the voucher and placed order on the website, including paying more for shipping, etc, but haven't heard anything since then. I see on the 2015 KS campaign page that shipping began last month for those new backers. When can the patient backers from 2 years ago expect to receive their rings, do you know? An update would be gratefully received.
-
I've yet to receive my ks2016 rings, due to size/qa failures - however from my vouchers in ks2013 terms I did get my alpha signature ring immediately I used the voucher code, but like you no sign in terms of vouchers used for new style rings.
I'd expect the ks2016 backers to get their ks rings before they'd start issuing the new style rings from vouchers - however that's just my interpretation and what appears to be happening in my case since I'm in both camps - unless the older voucher usage happened to be for sizes and styles not relevant to ks2016 fulfilment.
I'd be annoyed as a ks2016 backer if ks2013 backer vouchers were being honoured before my new funding - but I can see it both ways.
