If it works as an emulated COM-Port it would be perfect! For Windows 8 proximity devices I want to build an application later, since most of the people still use Windows 7 ;)
EDIT: It's detected as a smartcard reader, if anyone is interested in it...
HI I was a backer of Logbar, Ring at kickstarter.
I have requested for refund and successfully I got my money back.
Since I'm no longer a backer, I can't make any comment at kickstarter,
so I'm writing at this thread.
If there are anything I can help, please let me know.
I'm happy to do so.

John has said that he would make the blog post once all orders were fulfilled and stock levels were back at a reasonable level again, for the inevitable decimation by voucher redemption. I'm hopeful for Christmas ish myself so I can take care of that - family gets rings this year from me.
That's a great idea @shama - I have kids and my eldest loves stickers. I fear giving him any though as EVEYTHING will be covered in sweet spot markers!
NFC Community first, kids second. Parents will thank us...!
They look cool but if possible I would also create some black/white ones because the orange is very bright and I wouldn't stick one on my desk because it wouldn't match anything in my room.
I think some locked orange stickers with the store URL would be perfect for marketing.

Change to an alpha ring (additional fee) and £5 handling fee for handling/postage.
I think this option probably needs to be expanded upon and explained as part of the returns process and as an option for "ring don't work". OP was on version 1 of the forums and appears to have had a tough time working out how to use the ring on a difficult phone and hasn't yet used his account here.
Fair, but could do with some explanation for the guy.
