It's still on my todo list but it's kinda pushed down the bottom, I hope to get back onto it in a few months!

Hi Az, if the ring has arrived in your hands with write protected tags then open a dialogue with support@nfcring.com

@Mehdi its a great idea, and I'm sure it will be possible in the future however current NFC tags have nowhere near enough space for even one photo.

I assume you'll need the same chip as your badge is using. Try scanning your badge with the nzxp tag info app and see what type of chip it is.

As my original post says, the matching is very poor. I don't recommend the RC522 with small form factor NFC tags, it's not what that unit is good at doing.

Howdy - you can do all these things if the protocols used with the apartment gate and work door are the same as those used by the ring. This isn't always possible as some versions of wireless card use different frequencies for communication, and so you're going to have to look into it a little yourself.
As things stand, you can get a compatible apartment door lock and you can unlock your phone with the 2016 ring which doesn't do payments. At the moment I'm not able to say whether the new payment ring will allow these things because I haven't had one for testing.
Perhaps @johnyma22 can weigh in on this.
I don't think that you'll be able to use the new payment ring for the gate or the work door, but I could be completely wrong on this.

Or you could use a password and generate a keyfile from text stored on the ring.

Ideally, the ring would have to be at least Ultralight C or Mifare plus as they have encryption. (Perhaps a future upgrade)

Another method may be to access an encryption key online via a password and that is used to decrypt sector stored information on the ring.

A simple and immediate boost to security might be to use information contained on your ring now as password padding.

Hi, First off, I moved your post into a new thread, as it wasn't related to the thread you posted in.

Secondly, How are you currently opening the gate? I've seen (movies) people use a garage door fob or using a pincode lock on the side.

I think it's safe to say that the gate installers won't get you a nfc enabled access point unless they have such a service/device readily available to them, Which means that you'll either have to find a service that does or roll your own.

If you haven't already- which should have been your first step, give them a call and see if they provide alternative ways of opening the gates.

Hi Parviz, sadly I don't sell any prototype due to legal responsability, if you only need to unlock the car by NFC, you can follow this easy step by step tutorial: http://www.instructables.com/id/NFC-Car-Door-Control/

@didgesteve Thanks for the info! I figured you couldnt do it but it couldn't hurt to ask. Il wait for the payment ring to be released. Just wish it looked a little cooler and not like a piece of plastic. A little carbon fiber would do it good. Anyway Thanks again!

After some investigation and try, I have figured out what's wrong for my pn532 breakout from elechouse, here's the lib fixed:
      https://github.com/picospuch/PN532

In my case, there're no additional lines other than the vcc, gnd, sdl, scl used.
