The ring is also ceramic, is also water resistant up to a distance of 50m, and happens to be "unnamed" thus far. Now combine that with nfcring.com's front page message:

      "Psst... Early Adopters...
Be amongst the first to get your hands on the World's First Contactless Payment Enabled NFC Ring, launching very soon..."

      Very suspicious. ;)

Is there a topic in regards to that on the forum or elsewhere? I'd like to learn more, but I couldn't find anything (or I haven't searched hard enough). Or do I have to wait until you're ready to publicize? :)

Kewl. Does this mean we're finally able to talk about this without those pesky NDA's they have on you?
Here's the Visa Pressrelease about it.

I'm not actually sure to be honest! Ask a specific question and I will be very happy to answer!

Our datasheet for this ring isn't public yet I don't think.. Our spec sheet is though!

                      Questions
1-The design looks like the ring is actually made in two parts, are both the parts ceramic ?
2- When its released to the public will it continue with this design or will it look more seamless ?
3- Is there an ETA on release ?

                        1. Yes.

                        2. It looks seamless in production, it's super fly. I can't say for sure that the public offering will be exactly this design, I intend to improve it continuously so it depends on when it's released to the public.

                        3. I don't know. That's now handled by our LA office and I would imagine it's a close guarded secret :)

@johnyma22 I have thought of a few more questions.

1- Does it still have two tags or just one now?
2- I have this feeling that if it had two it could confuse the reader when making payments. If it has two are they the same type or different?
3- Do you have to hold your hand differently over a reader compared to the old type ? I read somewhere about having to hold a fist in a certain way for readability.

                            3. Yea, it's a 'knock' hand gesture, I have some video I can release in a few months :)

@johnyma22 one more question. Can we still save data on the ring, ie. for windows login, or is it totally reserved for payments?

@johnyma22 It doesn't really matter, I just pre-ordered my payments ring and am very happy about it I hope we can use it for the new community unlock software, but its not a deal breaker :)

Is there actually a benefit of pre-ordering? Seeing as us in Sweden has very few terminals of the sort, I wouldn't really benefit of doing so if there wasn't a incentive.

@Andreas it sounds like there is not much of a reason for you to buy this ring at all, incentive or not. The 2016 rings at least have two NFC chips and you know for sure you can write to them, If you are not going to be able to use this new ring for payments then the new ring is probably a downgrade for you.

Whereas in Sydney Australia contactless payments are literally everywhere. so for me its an upgrade.
