Glue issue or something else?
-
I've had my alpha for just over a month now, set it all up and it was working beautifully, then I've had NFC Ring Unlock disabled for the last two weeks while i was working on customers sites as I was not keen on wearing the ring all the time due to dealing with racks, servers, crawling under desks for telephone points and just generally not knowing what i might come into contact in warehouse/workshop areas.
Roll on today and with the new release of the app I have enabled it to play with tasker intergration and discovered the clear inset not been read at all and it feels like it has something of a "bump" in it that is both visible and can be felt, it almost feels like it just has a layer of cling film over it and looks like the inset has started to shift. After a bit of massaging it is now working again.
Is this a glue issue?

@johnyma22 is this normal for @jtbutcher not to have the NFC Ring logo on an Alpha?
@jtbutcher, I've encountered that behaviour before in a QA fail that I was using - if you purchased it from the webstore or were a backer on kickstarter you may need to contact support@nfcring.com and talk to them about it. -
@Lokki - Yep this was the initial Inlay, the Logo only got added to inlays created from March onwards
In regards to diagnosing the problem I would say it is most likely a glue issue. See how you get on with it and if it stops working again then we will be happy to replace it for you

Thanks @NFCringTom, I have left it several days and tried again this morning and that side is now completely unreadable whatever I do. Should I follow the instructions at nfcring.com/returns ? Thanks
-
@jtbutcher - if you send it back with an quick note letting us know the problem we will be able to replace it for you. On the plus side your replacement will have the NFC ring logo as a new batch of Alpha Signature rings have arrived today.

@NFCringTom sent it recorded on the 13th and is showing arrived on the 14th, any idea of how long it will take to process? thanks
-
@jtbutcher US and UK process at different speeds, I assume UK? Should be done by now if it landed on the 14th.
-
thanks @johnyma22 yep I'm in uk

Bumped @NFCringTom to get a status update :) Thanks for being patient!

no problem @johnyma22 I've received the replacement on Friday but had a busy weekend/week else I would have replied earlier, ring working perfectly and looks great. Thank you!
