Got my ring around early February and have had it on ever since and haven't done anything too terrible with it... shoveled snow a few times, did a bit of moving various things being the worst of it, but finally it has flaked out. One side has died. I have to say that I'm otherwise happy with the ring, even with a samsung note 3. I'll test it more extensively before I send in an email for a replacement or return or whatever they can do for me but for now I guess it's coming off my finger.

Upon further investigation, my phone's NFC may have died. Both sides of the ring won't read and my enhanced ID which has been reported to be NFC compatible also fails to read. I should try to look for other NFC tags to try to read to see what's going on. Unfortuntaely, I have no other NFC devices to try to use to try for reading.

In all seriousness though we do have rings that need using by the right people.

I don't quite know what you mean unless your implying I'm not the right sort of person to be using the ring?

Anyway, I found out my tablet (first gen nexus 7) can read NFC, and I tried looking for any sort of shadow of a response from it from either side of the ring and nothing, same with my phone. However the two devices immediately detected each other when brought together so their individual NFC functionality does seem to work, so I guess I'll follow the return prodecure and see how it goes...

Don't mind Tom, it was late at night for him. ;-)

That's really quite weird for both inlays to go out at the same time like that. Definitely go through the returns process and get it changed over if you've verified that it's not working at all.

Paul my bad, completely the opposite I phrased it horribly (damn British humor).

got my (normal) ring today and it really works bad with the first gen nexus 7! took me half an hour to find the sweet spot and even now it only works 1 out of 10 times..

the 2 provided extra NFC tags work alot better, did you try with those!?

Got my replacement ring today. Seems to work so far. I need to get used to it again. I have a note 3 so it's quite tricky but I can get to where it's not a big deal.
