    • RE: NFC Ring - titanium black/black

yeah, thought about that too, but permanent marker just sounds too permanent for such a beauty.. :)

started today with a small stripe of transparent scotch tape, let's see how long it lasts before getting ugly or falling off..

    • RE: Nexus 7

I tried, but it felt like the sticker made it even harder for my nexus to recognize the ring :(
But after all it's my first day with this New little Friend so i'll try for a couple more days and See how it goes :)

That's great to hear! Would a change to a normal with different inlay also be possible? Im only 1,67m tall so I guess my hands aren't so big either :)
I got black/black inlays so i figured it's quite hard to know which side is private and which is public.. (Made a thread in General for that)

Also I'll get a New phone soon so hopefully ring recognition won't be a Problem anymore with a New phone.. :)
(Still using a Galaxy S for now..)

Thanks a lot for your fast reply!

You might happen to have a recommendation for a New phone wich recognizes the ring well? Would make choosing a phone much easier! ;)

    • RE: Nexus 7

Oh, I just found a new sweet spot!

In the beginning I used the spot just below the "x" of Nexus holding the ring horizontal, but I just found out that holding the ring vertically at the "s" or "n" of the word nexus is much more reliable =)

funny thing is, at the "x" it works really only holding the ring horizontally and at the "n" and "s" it only works vertically.. weird stuff.. :)

    • RE: Finally flaked out. :(

      @paul
got my (normal) ring today and it really works bad with the first gen nexus 7! took me half an hour to find the sweet spot and even now it only works 1 out of 10 times..

the 2 provided extra NFC tags work alot better, did you try with those!?

    • RE: Nexus 7

I got my nfc ring today (normal)..
unfortunately, Nexus 7 2012 is my only nfc-enabled Device at the moment and it's really a pain to use the nfc ring with =(

Feels like the "sweet spot" is about 1mm x 1mm big.. I always have to look on the back where I touch it with the ring, and even if I I'm absouletly on the right spot,
it only works 1 out of 10times =(

What's the problem there? Is the NFC Antenna of Nexus 7 2012 too small? too big? or just not suitable for small nfc tags as in the ring!?

    • NFC Ring - titanium black/black

Got my ring(normal) today, and altough it's a bit of a pain to work with my Nexus 7 2012, I already love fiddling around with it..

What I didn't think about when ordering was that it might be a good thing to be able to distinguish the public and private side.
I kinda regret now that I took black inlays for top and bottom! :p

Any Ideas how I could manage to remember which side is which? Or would there be any chance I could send it back and get a different replacement ring?
Kinda feel bad even asking such a thing because otherwise I think the Ring is really well build!

As mentioned, Nexus 7 2012 is kinda bad at working with the Ring, so I was wondering if anyone has a suggestion on which phones work the ring the best!?
I know there's a seperate forum an threads for that, but maybe someone here got something to say about that too :)
