    • NFC ring unlock app video tutorial

      Hi guys!
I've made a video to help you setup the unlock app.
Please leave me some feedback and tell me how I can improve for future versions.

    • RE: Android Lollipop Trusted Device + NFC Ring = perfect

      Hi @Wolfgang

I suggest using either the NFC ring lock screen or the stock Android one with trusted device. Since you have a Nexus device use the stock lock screen and the trusted device functionality since it provides a bit more security then the app.

Let us know if this solves your problem.

I think it's a system sound so the only way to would be some systems settings. sadly android has no such setting.

    • RE: Unlock was working, now I have to use my pin instead

It seems like your tag is either overwritten or some application is stopping the unlock app from registering the ring.

please try to remove the tag in the unlock app an then add it again. Please note that the tag which is used for unlocking (with the NFC ring unlock app) can not be used for something different than unlocking.

      hope this helps.

    • RE: Locked out of my phone, no way to get in

you need to use the google account on which your phone is registered. Please also double check whether you write an capital letter at the beginning (due to automatic behaviour of the keyboard) as login credentials are case sensitive.
maybe @johnyma22 has some other tips

    • RE: Locked out of my phone, no way to get in

If you have a phone with a newer Android version (I believe 5.0 or above) you can use the system integrated lock screen with the ring as a trusted device.
The NFC Ring team worked really hard to get this functionality in the core version of Android.

Thanks for sharing your impressions with the ring. we generally noticed that newer phones and tablets have less difficulties to read the normal ring than older phones.
to change to an alpha you will have to mail support@nfcring.com it shouldn't be a problem.

    • NFC Ring Unlock app troubleshooting and important information

      Information
Please note that you can not use the tag for anything else than the unlock. If you overwrite your tag you will not be able to unlock your device with your ring.
We recommend to add one of the spare tags as a secondary key / backup key.

      Troubleshooting
If you cant unlock your device with your ring you probably have overwritten the tag.

      1. To unlock the device swipe the lock icon to the left side over the now appearing keyboard icon.
      2. Now enter your Google account information to login and unlock the device. Note: two factor authentication will require you to generate app specific passcodes for third party app authentication - please check here if you have two factor authentication enabled.
      3. If your Google login was successful the device gets unlocked.
      4. Open the app and go to 'Device Security' then 'Manage Keys' and remove your ring and add it again. Make sure your key is activated (listed under active keys) if not klick on the lock icon on the right side of the name you gave your ring then switch the enable option and press save.
      5. you should now be able to unlock your device with your ring.
        .

Still having problems? Please open a new thread in this forum section so we can help you.

If you have additions, corrections or other feedback to this troubleshooting page please let me know.

    • RE: NFC Stickers, interest and design feedback?

They look cool but if possible I would also create some black/white ones because the orange is very bright and I wouldn't stick one on my desk because it wouldn't match anything in my room.
I think some locked orange stickers with the store URL would be perfect for marketing.

    • RE: Help: locked out completly by NFC Ring Unlock

you may need to swipe down twice since the unlock app runs in full screen mode. so swipe down one to get the status bar displayed and then again to get the notifications / quick settings menue
      this should work
