I'd be interested if anyone has tested nfc modules (not a shield). I have a PN532 module from iteadstudio, haven't been able to test with my ring yet.

Pre-orders
I was really hoping to get a black ring with a transparent inlay on my 25% discount, plus a few others. :(
Will these other options be available eventually? Should I save my 25% voucher until then and order all the rings I want at once?
Can someone please let me know which ring size I ordered on the kickstarter?/e
I dare anyone to tell me that this photoshop I made of transparent on black isn't the sexiest thing you have ever seen.

RE: Where do I get nfc ring unlock verification code to use this
As long as it is not deleted, maybe you can find it with the subject of the email: Your NFC Ring Unlock App Access Code

RE: One side of ring stops working
That's very unusual. Are you working/living in a area where there is a lot of radio waves? Unless you rewrote the tags the whole time they should last for years.
Would the ring be more susceptible than your average ntag? I've had one on a keychain for nearly a year with no issue and a few sticker tags at my house and one at my office that still work fine.
I live in Chicago, so I would imagine the area is quite saturated with radio waves, especially in high density residential areas where everyone and their mother has wifi. My 2.5 ghz wifi has degraded performance and my apartment is on a street that is more commercial than residential. -
RE: NFC Lock Box
Have you guys seen the electronic pass code operated gun safes etc that you can pick up cheap on eBay? I wonder how hard it would be to hack one of those into working with NFC. Should be too difficult... As far as I can tell its a fail-close type solenoid that stops you twisting the unlock handle until the correct code is entered.
I'll need to get some guns first. And a foid card. I guess I could put my paintball gear in it :P

Danalock by poly-control
Planning on buying a Dana Lock (zwave version) and integrating it with an nfc reader that is hooked up to zwave.
Any suggestions on zwave controllers? The Almond+ I backed has been delayed somewhere in the neighborhood of a bajillion times, so I am looking for a temporary zwave solution. -
RE: Bug: Sporadically prompting unlock screen - disabled
Disabling the app as administrator seems to have solved the issue. I'm guessing it has something to do with the app monitoring failed unlock attempts.

Uninstall unlock app?
While I am waiting for a new ring I need to uninstall the unlock app due to the bug i posted earlier. >75% of the time when I enter password wrong it pops the ring unlock screen even though i have security disabled and deleted all keys.
Doesn't seem to be an obvious way to uninstall the app. I was able to uninstall the control app, but the same method is disabled for the unlock app (for obvious reasons). Looks like I will need to carry a tag around on my keychain in the meantime so I am not constantly typing in my gmail account and password. -
RE: Backer Discount Code
Not sure if you mean where to find your discount code or where to enter it.
They sent an email with the backer discount codes, mine had the subject, "Limited PREORDERS now available - Your code inside." Inside was my backer discount code.
There was a textbox to enter it during checkout, I believe at the same time I was entering my payment information. -
RE: NFC Ring App and battery
Does the NFC Ring App cause the phone's battery to drain excessively? I have a Nexus 5 and just ordered the ring and want to know if anyone using the NFC Ring App to unlock sees an unusually high battery drain. Thanks.
It will be no different if you already have nfc enabled on your phone. The app doesn't change when the antenna is turned on.
I have had no noticeable change in battery life since installing and using the app. I had nfc enabled long before installing the app. -
RE: Arduino and NFC
ok, so finally got the sketch to compile. Couldn't get it working on my windows 7 installation even after reinstalling arduino software. I fired up an XP VM, installed the arduino software and the sketch compiled first try. There must be some lingering data after uninstall that I need to take care of.
