With a genuine NFC ring, getting: "Uh Oh. This might not be a genuine NFC Ring, please try the other side of your Ring"
-
I just received my NFC ring. Should be 100% genuine. However when trying to register the ring on a Samsung S4 mini or a Nexus 5 I get the following message: "Uh Oh. This might not be a genuine NFC Ring, please try the other side of your Ring".
Anyone have a thought on what's going wrong?
-
Where did you get your ring from? Maybe there is no need to register
-
Hi @Lafunamor, I bought it online @ http://store.nfcring.com/ so it's an official ring.
I tried using the "NFC Ring Unlock" app which requests a email/password combination and then prompts me to use the "Control App" to complete account registration.
When trying to register the account with said control app, I get the error message.
-
Sorry if this is too obvious, but you did try the other side of the ring?
Sometimes I gather the recording process misses an inlay.
@johnyma22 or @NFCringTom are you guys able to weigh in on this, @patrizz may need a manual verify code. -
Hi @Lokki, yes I tried both sides, several times and on both devices (Samsung S4 Mini & Nexus 5). On all accounts the unfortunately reports the same error.
-
Ok, from the sound of that @patrizz you're going to want to email support@nfcring.com and request from them a verification code. They'll manually generate one for you to use. Let them know why you're requesting it, and direct them to this thread for more info.
-
Ok, I will, thanks @Lokki
-
Thanks again, @Lokki, it looks like it was some bug indeed. The friendly and responsive support team has solved the issue and I am now able to use the ring properly.
-
Excellent, glad you got it all sorted out @patrizz! Enjoy using your ring! :-)

Hello i just ordered it in US i cannot get the ring to register. It keeps saying not genuine. Thanks
-
Hey Robert, I assume you tried both sides as suggested?
-
@johnyma22 Yes and every other suggestion (that i saw) in other threads.
Thanks for the quick reply -
Hey Robert, I emailed you a user/pass :)
-
@johnyma22 Thank you

Excited to have gotten my NFC ring for Christmas. Tried to get it registered on my LG G3 but it keeps telling me it may not be genuine. I can get it to write and read what's been written, but the main reason I asked for the ring was to unlock my phone. From what I've read on this thread, the only way to get it to work at this point is to get a verification code. Do I do that by writing to support, or is there another step I'm missing?
-
did you try both sides of the ring? If yes, please email support@nfcring.com they will be able to help you.
-
i have had the same problem, purchased my ring directly from this site. I have sent several emails to the support email and had one response followed by 7 days of radio silence.
Can someone get in contact with me to help me register my ring???? -
can you please provide us with a case #?
-
Certainly, i spoke to Tom case #(12905) on May 13th.
My purchase order number for the ring itself is #US1854.
