      Hello,

I got a ring last evening and set it up. I was messing around this morning and wrote some data to the inlay of the ring I was using for authentication. Now, when I try to unlock the device I get a 'New Tag Collected' full-screen popup on my phone. This prevents the NFC Unlock app from being able to read the device. Is there an easy way to get the ring working again?

      Cheers!
      -Tim

The problem is that the unlock app writes data to your ring so you can't store different data on that particular inlay. There is a easy solution to your problem. just unlock you phone (you may need to use the google login to get past the NFC unlock app (Note: 2 factor authentication needs to be turned off for this to work)) then open the unlock app, remove your ring from the list of keys (Device security -> manage keys) delete your ring/key and add a new one. make sure the key is active before you enable the NFC ring unlock screen.

hope this helps and if there is anything not clear just ask ;-)

@Lafunamor Perfect. I tried everything but re-registering. Cheers!

(Disclaimer: I don't have rings yet and haven't used unlock app)
A few people have had this problem of not knowing that you can't store private data and use that side to unlock, so is it possible to give warning if a user tries to write data to a tag that is registered as the unlock tag?
