How do I get the Unlock App to bypass the Android lock screen?
-
I have an Mi5 running Android 6.0
In order to read company email, they require that I use some security on the phone, so I have enabled pin code security.I was hoping to use my nfcring to bypass the Androin Lock screen, but the problem is that the phone ask me to key in the Android pin code, and then it ask for the ring.
What setting do I have to change?
-
Just disable the Native Android Pin code security screen
Settings > Unlock > No unlock method or some such :)
-
On newer versions of Android I've had to run a seperate app from play store to remove the lock screen.
You should also be able to add your NFC ring as a trusted device and unlock from the stock lock screen that way. -
What @johnyma22 suggests won't work due to the company regulations. You have to add your ring as an trusted device. Then use it to bypass the lock screen.
-
@johnyma22 I'm not allowed to do that without deleting my company email account
-
@Lokki Which app did you use?
-
"NoLockScreen" I think it was, there are a couple there.
-
You might want to try the SmartLock option in the android settings. The ring bypasses the lock without removing it.
-
@Berg - a few of us have been having some issues with smartlock failing to respond after the first few times.
-
@Lokki I've been only using it since 24h, but with 4 rings and on 2 devices - so far so good :) I will report if it ends up failing.
-
Cool. It's really frustrating, sometimes.

From what I know, all the currently available solutions will only work either with no lock screen, or bypassing your lock screen. There is no option that I know of that asks for your pin and NFC ring.
-
mine nexus 6 ask for my normal andriod pin and ring
-
@Jose That's actually how it goes by default on my phone when I enable NFC Ring unlock: first PIN then ring..
-
@Berg Huh! I guess I'll have to check when I get my ring :)
