Special Edition KickStarter rings with CF INLAY.
Hi NFCRing team
Just want to know how are you going to solve the limited KS rings problem?
Here is how i see the problem:
I pledged for a Limited KS with CF inlay. And if i am correct, I think you said any one with CF inlay pledges would get temp ring and then??
Its been so many changes with the CF that I am now fully out of the loop of what is happening with the CF ring orders...Anyway, the problem is this, are you making temp rings for them with CF pledges WITH the KS Limited inlay?
IF so, it kindof do make them not so limited any more!
See my point? Just would like a clarification.Ps: I have got two test rings and i am more than happy with them, but i REALLY would have loved my Limited KS with CF.... .
Anyway great work Team! -
RE: No Carbon Fiber?!?! What the deuce?!
Still No Email, so do you think it just have been auto changed to black?[/quote:1fudjyxm]
I ordered the Limited Kickstarter Edition with CF. Anyway, no rush and are happy if it is just auto changed to black..

RE: No Carbon Fiber?!?! What the deuce?!
@johnyma22
Thanks for a detailed update about this problem, and a very good explication with picture to show the core of this problem. And I am more than happy for the change to a normal black inlay on my KickStarter Limited ring..Thanks again for grabbing this problem by its horns and lets hope this IS the last bump in the road for the NFCRing team. :D

RE: 2 factor auth with Samsung Finger Print reader
personally I find those fingerprint readers useless. They are not secure and storing my fingerprint data in a unknown place is no option for me.
I hear your point, and also that concern to where the print is saved,as it is not open source and so no controll(This is me guessing as this is API based so its not open source I think)
But I know that I would like to have one more action added to authenticate to my mobile for increased security, so its not "just" the ring, but still be easy and quick like a finger print read would be.
Anyway, was just mentioned as an "idea" so all thought on it are great :)

RE: 2 weeks of wearing the NFCRings.
Ah cool - I was wondering how the coloured metal would go. You just wear the one ring with none adjacent?
Jupp, just the one ring on my right hand, so no other rings rubbing on it.

2 factor auth with Samsung Finger Print reader
Hi All
Just want to suggest that maybe U guys at NFCRing make a Samsung Spesific app for the new models that support the fingerprint reader to make super duper 2 factor authentication.. :DSo even if they manage to steal you'r ring AND your mobile they STILL will not get access..
What do you guys think?

RE: 2 weeks of wearing the NFCRings.
+1 for the rolling. Do the same here..
And after using a normal black coated ring for about 2 weeks I can notice if i focus reallly close see some of the shiny metal underneath it but i Reallly have to "zoom" in to see it.
But as Lokki has done. I am giving it as ruff treatment as I can to see what it can withstand and if it breaks i will buy a new one as I do NOT assume it will be covered by ANY form of warranty..

RE: One side of ring stops working
@Taylor This happened to me too. But it did not give any signs before the one side did die. It just died after half a day of "use".
Anyway. The NFCRing Team offered great support and response regarding this matter! :D -
RE: GalaRing, some thoughts and opinions
It's worth letting everyone know we(Both McLear Ltd and Galagreat) aren't being aggressive on our patent(s), that means we can work together to improve our products. I did ask Ricky to share some evidence of his creation that is in the public domain to back up his claims that he had his design completed before we launched on Kickstarter but he was unable to provide this so I think we're all still skeptical, should I see this evidence I will be very happy to change my opinion. All that being said though it doesn't even really matter because we're all being cool about it :)
Respect for this! :D
And as you say, lets all just work together and make stuff better ;)

RE: Nexus 7 2013 (deb)
No Problem, going to do the same for my Samsung Galaxy SII (I9100P).
And yes the position is interesting, as it is layered over the "Wireless" charging coil. :)

Nexus 7 2013 (deb)
Hi All
Here is what I found when hunting for "Sweet Spot" on the Nexus 7 2013.
!Both sizes of the ring works great with the Nexus 7 2013!
First the NFC Antenna layout:
![](
The red layover is just about where the NFC antenna is, and it reads the rings great on the centre of each side.
IT does not read where the sides meet, but this is not a big problem as you do not have to move the ring much towards the centre of the side you are using before it reads it. :) (Hope that makes sense)
Else have a look at the pic below for guaranteed sweet spots :)1:

Hope it helps.

RE: Nexus 7
Is the Nexus 7 you used the 2012 or the 2013 model?
As I have a Nexus 7 2013 (deb) and both Ring sizes works great with it. Have a look over at my Nexus 7 2013 (deb) thread in the "Where is my phones "Sweet Spot"?" section.:D

Samsung Galaxy SII (I9100P)

NFC to auto launch app and play media file on internet.
HI All
Just wondering if it is possible to have the public side of the ring to launch and app and auto play a media file on the Internet when scanned.
Thanks for reading!
