With the devices you're using I'd like to point out that @shama's observation is correct, the Nexus series can be a pain especially with the 'classic' or smaller band. If you've got a classic you may want to discuss the possibility of an Alpha with support. As the Alpha has a larger antenna it can make matching and reading a little easier with some difficult devices.
