Verification Code Not Working
-
My verification code doesn't work for NFC unlock app from the kickstarter email I got.
I enter in my email and verification code and it prompts me to purchase an nfc ring.
Registering my rings in the NFC control app results in me having to use a new email address which I do not want.
The email address I'm using is the same, the link that was provided doesn't give me a new verification code.
https://me.nfcring.com/validationCodeReset
It resets my account password and that's all it does.
Any help is appreciated, I was directed to post here by NFCring support.
Thank you

Hi
Sadly there is still a error in the naming. the provided link is correct and the password you enter on this website is actually the verification code of the unlock app.
just give it a try. -

enter your email and you will receive a link to a page that has the following text on it:
Reset Your Password for NFC Ring Unlock
New Password for <your email>then a text field and a gigantic button which says "change password"
Edit: John please see the link I sent you via PM

Thanks for the replies gentleman.
Still no dice however, tried inputting the verification code provided to me to reset.
still wouldn't let me use the application. -

Are they talking about the fact that the website refers to this as a password, whereas the app asks for a verification code?

still wouldn't let me use the application.just checking, did you follow the following steps?
- enter your mail on https://me.nfcring.com/validationCodeReset
- click on the link in the email you received
- enter a new password/verification code on the website that opened
- used this new password/verification in combination with your email in the unlock app
-
@Lafunamor Yes I've followed these steps many times.
Does not work. -
Try setting an all capital password/verification code
-
@Lafunamor Just tried this, doesn't work... :(
-
@ShiranuiKira this may sound stupid but is your device connected to the internet?
-
if yes. please register with a different email address through the control app and try the verification again. It works fine for me. I just checked.
Maybe you should try a short verification code as this helps to prevent spelling/typing errors. -
@Lafunamor Yes, tried connecting via wifi and via LTE.
-
Try uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and then try the verification code again.
If it still occurs, can you show a screenshot of the error message?
-
I've tried registering it, It makes the tag read tone, but doesn't move from the scan ring screen.
So, I can't even create a new account even if I wanted to... -
make sure all other apps are closed and nothing is running in the background
-
It reads when i tap the ring contents selection.
And it writes actions with no issue.
Just doesn't let me register... -
can you please check if you're using the latest version of the control app.
-
@Lafunamor I've reinstalled it a few times this week already. Pretty sure it is the newest from Google Play.
-
@ShiranuiKira Okay, one last shot from me.
-
Re-install (or clear the app data in the device application manager) both the NFC Ring Control and NFC Unlock apps.
-
Try each of these to see if one of them works:
-
Reset your password with something super simple like "asdf123", and make sure your device keyboard doesn't do anything funky like auto-correct on the fly or something like that.
-
Go to the NFC Ring Control app and register with a new dummy email just for test purposes, and use that email/password combo in the NFC Ring Unlock app.
-
Try the NFC Ring Unlock app on a different device.
Describe what you experience in step by step detail as necessary, so we can narrow down the cause of the issue.
