I am pleased to report the ring works perfectly wit the Sony Xperia Z2. The phone has an NFC logo on the back that indicates the sweet spot however I have found the ring reads best about 1cm under the logo.

That's great, are you able to take a picture of the sweet spot for us?

I can't seem to attach an image to the post but I have uploaded below. The sweet spot is in the red circle, about 1cm under the NFC logo.
