      1. Download and Install NXP TagWriter: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.nxp.nfc.tagwriter
      2. Select the Tools > Clean option, introduce the locked side of your ring to the sweet spot.
This will fix the tag. Test by writing new data to the ring

      More info..

If you use NXP TagWriter and get output like this:

      Control TLVs:

Lock Control TLV at address 0x04, offset 0

      • Dynamic lock bytes at address 0x28, offset 0
      • 16 lock bits
      • 16 bytes locked per lock bit

You have a soft lock set on your tag.

      Ensure you get:

      IC type:

      NTAG203(F)

      OR

      IC type:

      NTAG2* <-- where * is a wildcard..

@johnyma22 , FYI I haven't been able to soft protect any NTAG203 device including the rings using NXP TagWriter, the only option that does work for the NTAG203 seems to be permanent lock!
