Same here, - on my Note 3 it is working with the the spare tag, but not with the normal ring. Even on my other other phone, a HTC One, I must be precise to the micro millimeter to hit that sweet spot, and even then it only works one time out of 10 attempts, which makes the ring practically unusable there as well. All other tags are recognizes by both phones if I bring them just close to the sweet spot. So the standard ring is useless to me.
Still, I ordered the collection, but since they lost my original order the other 2 rings (alpha and stealth bomber) will only be delivered with the next batch and I don't know when that will be. Communication with the folks in UK is very cumbersome (I realize I haven't ordered with Amazon, but I would have at least expected they'd be reading my mails).
This is the first time I supported a kickstarter project and it is turning into a rather frustrating and disappointing experience :(
