This is extremely disappointing to hear, I have been using NFC Rings since the first time it was on Kickstarter. I do not agree with using biometric authentication so now I am stuck with the old password/PIN. I do not understand what sort of problem it was causing that would make them remove it; if most people don't use, it how is turning it off going to solve anything?

RE: Alpha Signature Size
My classic is a size 10.5 and it almost slips off of my middle finger (especially now that it is getting cold out) when I shake my hand around, so when I ordered an alpha the first day we could in size 10. My alpha is snug on my middle finger and is only a little tougher to take off when my hand is hot, couldn't ask for much better. I don't wear many rings but I would assume if 7.5 is difficult to get off your finger 8 may be about right.

RE: Phone sweet spot list *please check before posting*
@david-pinto From what I read at the NFC World website the Moto G doesn't have NFC, so therefore would not work with the ring. You should still check in the Settings if you have an option to turn NFC on under "Wireless & Networks" -> "More..." since I think there are a couple of versions of the model(at least one with and one without LTE radio).
"Motorola has confirmed to NFC World that its affordable Android smartphone, introduced in November 2013, does not have NFC" (http://www.nfcworld.com/nfc-phones-list/)

RE: Playing with three.js
Awesome, works very well on my GTX 470 graphics card. Are you going to make an alpha sized one as well? (I am really hoping that the alpha size goes up for sale soon because I would love to buy one!)

RE: Moto X
I noticed on my Moto x that it only reads the ring when the device is locked too, but it is a good thing. On my old galaxy nexus it would randomly try to read the ring when I didn't want it to. As another side bonus using it as a skip there is no sound that the tag was read when it unlocks no matter what the volume seeing is.

RE: Shipping Time Question
I live in Maryland and I believe that it took two weeks for mine to be delivered, plus I didn't have a federal holiday weekend, so I wouldn't worry yet.

RE: Both inlays are sort of dead
The first side that died on my ring has one deep scratch in it, but it doesn't look like it reached the inlay. After that scratch I was extra cautious not to do it again on the second side, but it still died. Glad to know yours has survived all those marks in the pictures.

RE: Both inlays are sort of dead
@asbath I am glad to hear your ring has made it through that much ultimate, I have only thrown a frisbee a few times so it may just have been the glue like you said. I am still trying to remember everything that I have done around the time they died incase it is something I did and not just the glue, after all I don't want to keep replacing it every few weeks.

RE: Both inlays are sort of dead
@Zackis I got my new ring in the mail on May 20th, I just waited until now to post this because I kept the original and the second side still worked until yesterday.

Both inlays are sort of dead
The first couple weeks after receiving my classic titanium black/black ring it worked great on both sides, but since then the sides have sort of died. When I thought the first side died (unlock side) I found that it actually had just become way less sensitive, to the point where it would take a few minutes of moving around to get it sensed rather that instantly like before. I changed the other side to unlock, and about a week later the same thing. I tried a nfc info app on the sides, and it can't even sense the first side that sort of died anymore so I assume it is completely dead now. Multiple times I tried the ring on my old Galaxy Nexus and it had identical results so it is not my Moto X's nfc chip. When anyone on here says that their ring has died, do they mean 100% or has it just become way duller like mine started to?
I have a new one already, but I wanted to ask if things like outdoor stuff like throwing a Frisbee would effect it? I thought when the first side had sort of died it might have been because I may have sat it near a fridge magnet sitting on my table, but since the same thing happened to the other side now I assume that wasn't the cause. I really loved the ring while it lasted I just want to make sure I do everything I can to not let the new one go bad too. If I can keep the new one from dying as fast as the first one I hope to buy an alpha one once the pre-orders are up.

RE: What are people putting on there rings?
So far I have used my to unlock my phone and a link to my LinkedIn profile page.

RE: NFC Antenna Theory
The negative review was on the ring which he says he only got to work on one device, the Moto X, and in a spot smaller than a "quarter inch." He clearly didn't do something right or try hard enough. I came across the video because John mentioned it on here a while ago, but here is a link:

RE: NFC Antenna Theory
@Lokki I just got my normal size ring today and as I had predicted the ring can be read all the way around the NFC coil of my Moto X. As long as I have the ring in the same direction (horizontal/vertical) as the coil there isn't really a "sweet spot," even with my case on. I haven't posted anything in the "sweet spot" part of the forum yet, but it is basically identical to this picture of the coil that is posted on ifixit.com - http://d3nevzfk7ii3be.cloudfront.net/igi/suMxHauKHXeQufAD.huge
If it wasn't for your theory I probably would have assumed that the one "sweet spot" from a negative review that was posted on YouTube was the only one I would find without an alpha size ring. Thanks

NFC Ring App to only lock specified apps
I have noticed that there are useful apps like AppLock that allow the users to only lock specified apps rather than the entire device. The problem with that app, and many similar ones, is that it only has options like PIN numbers and passwords. Do you think you can make the official app offer an option or something similar to that, or do you know of a current app that already offers that and I just missed it?
I love the idea of unlocking with the ring, but I like the ability of being able to allow others to use my device and only lock what I feel is necessary. For example, if someone could just lock their business email or gallery so their children can't open them yet they could still browse the web or play a game.

RE: NFC Antenna Theory
Hi Lokki,
Thank you for that very elaborate explanation of why the sweet spots are much smaller than some of us had thought. I am still waiting for my normal ring but I have noticed by watching some phones taken apart on the ifixit site that the sweet spots are around edge of the NFC coil. For example the Moto X (which I should receive by mail soon) has the sweet spot which appears to be the bottom left corner on the NFC coil on the phone taken apart on ifixit. Do you think is is just a coincidence or is it because of something like the electromagnetic field being more powerful on the edge of the NFC coil?

RE: Tapatalk
I second that, being able to do this through Tapatalk would be great.

RE: Pre-orders
I was hoping to pre-order an alpha stealth ring since I got a normal size through KS and I think I might need the bigger nfc inlays, but I noticed they aren't up yet. Does anyone know when they will be up for pre-order, or did I just miss finding them?
