Hopefully not much longer now based on the email I got today 😀
Can you please share the details from the email you received?
-
@matt-0 I've also received an email from them. Here it is:
Hi Kyle,
We have rings made, back end systems in place and almost everything ready to go - but we have some final hurdles to get over to be able to fully release them to our awesome preorder backers.
I can't go into full details on this here, but we will be releasing more information on the rings over the coming few weeks.
I'll also remind you that no money has been taken from your account for the preorder yet. We'll let everyone know when that will happen in advance of collecting it.
Thank you for your email and we'll be in touch soon.
Kind regards,
ChrisHopefully it comes soon :D!

@geekguy100
Thanks for the update. It's good news to think that the waiting is nearly over. But I still have questions about who is tending this forum if it can go so long without any 'official' expanation. It shouldn't be your job to spread the word. -
@didgesteve no problem. Have you pre ordered a ring?
-
I got pretty much the exact same email. Seems a bit like w copy and paste job lol

Yes, I was a Kerv kickstarter and then when I heard about the court case in the US I ordered an NFC ring, thinking that NFC would be first. How wrong I was. My Kerv has been on my finger and working perfectly for over two months.
-
How is the Kerv? I like the different design choices but is it worth £100 or should I just wait for this one for half that?
-
@didgesteve nice! I'd like to order one but it's into available in the UK 😒. How did that court case begin anyway? Did one company take the other's idea?

To be honest, it's a lot of money for what it does. I paid £35 kickstarter price, I wouldn't pay £100 for it, not worth it. I think the shape and design of the NFC ring will be more comfy and les obtrusive than the Kerv.
@geekguy100
Apparently there was issue with the antenna used in the Kerv ring, that is was mighty similar to the NFC version. But it's very possible that the man in China who makes them will sell them to anybody and he thinks he's doing you a favour. There are hints of the court case in the first post in General discussions. 'Our IP and how / when we enforce it' -
@didgesteve ok thanks for the info! I've been hearing people talk about it but never knew exactly what happened.
-
Hey we got an update!
Click here -
@geekguy100 Not really an 'update', just a tweet about a new hire. Still no news about an actual when.
-
@johnyma22 Yet another, another month or so has gone by 🙁
Still no announcements or details of a shipping date for the Payment Ring.
I heard about something going to Court in America, but from what I've read it appears to be about stopping Kerv selling product in America based on stolen patent. This doesn't seem to explain the delay in the launch of the NFC Payment Ring.
So again, I'll ask you to please give a realistic date/period for the shipping of the NFC Payment Ring. Please, no "super-soon", "any moment", "strong and stable".
Just a simple, realistic, actual date/period. Pretty please.
-
@glyn yeah good point :/
-
Hi, would really like to pre-order a payment ring, has the link been removed?
-
@catherine
Looks like it has :-(
Shame. -
It’s going to be a LONG time before any orders are shipped. NFC Ring is currently in a patent dispute with Kerv Wearables and now Esos is claiming to own the patent as well.
Case is currently delayed until November 30, 2017 court date and will be ongoing from there. Guessing will likely be well into 2018 before it is settled.
Updates on progress are here: https://docs.justia.com/cases/federal/district-courts/california/candce/5:2016cv07159/306152/67

Damn that’s annoying been a year since I preordered. Just wish they would do the right thing and have better communication with customers. Wouldn’t mind the delay if they actually told us why
-
Anyone heard anything

We're all waiting for dust to settle.. Again apologies for lack of updates...
