NFC Ring Permanently Locked

I recently bought the NFC ring Eclipse. I was setting up the unlock app on my phone and I got to the part where you can make it a read only tag and I thought it was mandatory that the ring became a read only for the ring to be able to unlock your phone. So I made it a read only tag. Is there a way to change it back to a writable tag or is it locked permanently.
