IPhone/Mac
-
I recently purchased a USB NFC card reader/writer. I think it was the ARC199 or something...
Anyway, all the software is far too complicated - any chance you could port your app to a Mac programme for the Luddites among your backers?!Thanks

Are there any examples of a 3rd party app that takes control of the iPhone lock screen? Doesn't sound like the kind of thing Apple would approve.
-
The way iOS is set up anything third party to unlock the phone would have to be via a jailbreak in order to get that kind of access to the operating system. That circumvents the Apple approval thing.
That said I haven't heard of anything like that recently. -
I read that the new iOS is to have NFC support, we'll know more in 4 days from today. That is exciting as I use macs and iPhone etcetera.

Yes, I'm waiting, 'bated breath and all. What they announce will determine whether my next phone is an xperia or an iphone.

Hi, having just purchased an iPhone 6 and have a Vintage ring from yourselves on its way, can you confirm the ring will unlock the phone using NFC ?
Thanks

Hello @Stuart128, currently the Apple NFC module is unavailable to developers. This may change in future or there may be a jailbreak solution at some point. But not currently, no.

Is there any way of controlling the ring without an android app?
I just have iPhone... -
You can use an arduino or raspberry pi based solution to read/Write and otherwise utilise the ring. You can also get NFC door locks that don't require you to program the ring before use.
There's a whole world of things out there that don't require a phone or tablet.
