Ever tired of changing profiles in Kodi or want a quick way to pause your content? The idea is that all of your family members have a profile on your Kodi device so they are presented with a UI and content suitable for them. Instead of having to go through the horrible profile change menu the family member can just touch their ring to the Kodi box and it will log them into their profile and auto-play some content suitable to them.

With the NFC Ring you can load a specific profile on your Xbmc/Kodi device.

The same ring when touched will pause/play the content.

Super simple, I used keyduino but any usb->Serial NFC input would work.

Source code landing on my blog w/ in 48 hours.

I have a MELE M8 device. I am not sure if it uses NFC although it's supposed to be the last model of MELE. I will check it out

I think you could still do it if you added an external reader via USB as John has done.

Yea I'm just using a Keyduino..

              But basically PN532 <> Arduino <> MELE M8

Would work fine :) Just a case of capturing serial out.
